Dear friend,

You’re toil is not in vain,

So don’t go sparingly into the day,

Be gracious to your present,

So that your future can flourish, 

Do not accept defeat,

For your wounds may scar,

But healing shares your laments,

I hope you’re reminded,

To give grace for your tired soul,

And for the omissions,

I hope judgment doesn’t find you,

But rather love coils around the life,

You desperately pursue,

And gently restricts,

Killing the derision,

Recognize your humanity,

Bones and all,

Nothing hidden,

Vide cor meum

Let me take care of you 

Let me speak these words

To heal,

The discomfort,

The disdain,

And to have them slowly fade,

Allowing endearment,

To be stitched in your spine,

Sewn deeply,

Every scar,

Entangled in your mind

Removed and soothed,

Providing rest,

Skin to skin,

Gentle and still,

Inhale me deeply,

With every breath,

A soul to recognize another,

Blood to blood,
